Why does film need a silver layer?
Because of ceramic’s heat absorbance, general ceramic film without a silver layer will have a problem when it is exposed by sunlight and stay still for long time. Heat absorbed in ceramic particles will be conducted and convection to inside cabin and make inside temperature higher. However this problem will be reduce if vehicle move. When wind flows pass glass, heat convection at outside of glass surface will be happened.
Therefore silver layer is added to film structure for reflecting heat in order to solve the problem of ceramic film’s heat absorbing. So your Kontrast film is “Thermal insulator which is able to reflect heat”
Besides reflecting of heat or reducing heat absorbance of ceramic, a silver layer also decrease or delay oxidation of film. So color of film is durable and last 40% longer or slow down color fading 40%. Thus it extends film lifespan.
